Certified Application Counselors
Our CACs are here to help you understand the health insurance Marketplace.
Finding health insurance can be difficult. The Marketplace was created to make it easier for you to locate a health insurance plan that fits your needs. We have counselors on staff who are trained to help you:
Why sign up for health insurance through the Marketplace?
The Affordable Care Act has made it easy to locate a health insurance plan which fits your budget and your health care needs. It has also created incentives for purchasing insurance through the Marketplace which are not available any other way. Taking advantage of these incentives makes even more sense when you consider that those who don't enroll may be liable for tax penalties.
When can I use the Marketplace to enroll?
Open Enrollment runs from the month of November through February. Normally you can only enroll yourself through the Marketplace during that time. However, there are exceptions for those who have lost their coverage, who have had a major change in their circumstances or who are members of a recognized American Indian tribe. Go to healthcare.gov for more information, or make an appointment with our CAC to learn more.
